-- @rececilia_
🇬🇧 "I was born with Profound Bilateral Sensorineural Hearing Loss, I used a hearing aid in my left ear since I was very young. The time came when the only hearing aid I was using was not enough for me, so they started talking to me about the Cochlear Implant. After a few years of back and forth, I was finally a candidate for implantation. I am currently a bimodal user and am waiting for my second implant.
Before I was implanted, I had been feeling for a long time that I did not want to expose myself to meeting people, I wanted to stay at home and not risk stressful situations. With the first implant, I have not only been able to hear things I had never heard before (such as birdsong, my own breathing, the rustling of leaves in autumn), but I have also become more confident and self-assured and have had a positive effect on my daily mood." -- @rececilia_
