From lab to life: The development of next-generation hearing technology relies on training devices in the realistic, complex situations that users encounter on a daily basis.
Collecting such diverse data is challenging and cannot be replicated in a traditional lab setting. Enter our User Behavior Technology team, who recently took our hearing aids on a field trip, swapping the lab for a city tour of Zurich, Switzerland.
The aim? To integrate real-world insights into our development and testing processes by gathering audio and motion data in various environments and activities - from different modes of transportation, to capturing conversations during walks or coffee breaks.
The desired outcome is to refine our audio and motion classification systems using this realistic data, preparing our devices for the real-world challenges faced by our users.
Everyday life is full of surprises, necessitating the training and testing of our devices in different scenarios to ensure they work optimally when consumers need them most. Discover some impressions of the data-collection journey.
