And the noisiest job is … airport ground staff.
To celebrate #InternationalNoiseAwarenessDay, we conducted a poll on various jobs that are associated with exposure to loud noise. The roar of a jet engine means that airport ground staff must wear heavy-duty ear protection even when a plane is idling. This is because they are exposed to sound levels of approximately 140 dB, which is well above the safe sound threshold of 85 dB.*
Noise exposure is growing constantly in both work and leisure settings. This Noise Awareness Day, learn about how Sonova employees avoid noise-induced hearing loss (https://lnkd.in/dkfBhyn3)
