Huge congratulations to AB cochlear implant wearer Rosie on becoming the T.A.G.B. Tae Kwon-Do World Champion 2025. Rosie’s family have shared her life-changing journey…
Rosie was once told that contact sports were too risky because of her cochlear implants. For a girl who loved movement, that felt like a heavy limit. But everything changed when a new consultant reassured her that sport was safe.
Rosie and her dad joined Solihull T.A.G.B. Tae Kwon-Do Club together, training side by side. The supportive environment gave her confidence, friendships, and a sense of achievement she hadn’t always found at school. Sport quickly became her outlet, her passion, and her way of proving to herself what she was capable of.
In just a year, Rosie’s dedication has taken her from her first grading to Best in Grading, English National Champion, training with the England Squad and then World Champion 2025—competing among athletes from 23 countries.
Today, sport is Rosie’s pillar of strength. As she says: “I can’t live without sport—it helps my mental health and keeps me fit. I do it 24/7.”
With her AB cochlear implants, Rosie hasn’t just kept up—she’s soared, living life to the fullest and becoming a true champion. 🥋🏆
Thank you to Rosie and her family for sharing this story – what an inspiration!
