My grandchild has severe hearing loss, with one ear above 95% and the other over 100. As she got older, we gradually realize that there is still a difference between cochlear implants and hearing aids. We worked hard to help her learn speech, but she wasn't able to pronounce certain sounds or words well, such as ""strawberry"". We gradually realized that ""hearing"" and ""hearing clearly"" are not the same thing. she was already 2 years old and almost 3, so we felt that and we had to act to get her a cochlear implant. Since wearing the cochlear implant, teaching her to read Tang poetry and ancient Chinese literature has become easier. And words like ""strawberry"" have finally been corrected. In terms of learning to speak, it's really obvious how much easier it is now with the CI. Hearing is a very important tool that people rely on for survival in the hearing world. Only by hearing, can one connect with the world, so I strongly believe that cochlear implants are important devices that can help children.
