The time came when the only hearing aid I was using was not enough for me, so they started talking to me about the Cochlear Implant. After a few years of back and forth, I was finally a candidate for implantation. I am currently a bimodal user and am waiting for my second implant. Before I was implanted, I had been feeling for a long time that I did not want to expose myself to meeting people, I wanted to stay at home and not risk stressful situations. This was a seamless integration within our current programming software and very simple for both the clinician as well as our patients! We have access to all of the same features we would just like the patient was right in front of us! We are able to reduce the number of times patients are seen in our office for follow-up care or basic troubleshooting for programming. This has allowed us to create different programs for patients to try and can help us really fine tune devices without all of the added patient facing hours! Remote programming really helps put our patients at ease knowing if they need certain program adjustments, they don't need to come into the city to be able to get them! Between the drive to the office, parking in the city, and overall time out of their schedule, we are able to make these adjustments in more than half of the time! We have gotten creative as well and are able to program back up processors when needed.
