Innovation with purpose is at the heart of Sonova and it’s inspiring to see this approach reflected in the Swiss medtech industry as a whole. This was especially tangible at the annual Swiss Medtech Day this week, in which several of our colleagues participated. Martin Heierle led a workshop on Innovation Culture and Stefan Launer served as jury member for the Swiss MedTech Award.   Our congratulations go to QUMEA for winning this year’s Swiss MedTech Award, which we proudly co-sponsored together with the Straumann Group. QUMEA is based in Solothurn and was recognized for its digital mobility monitoring in patients’ rooms. Their 3D radar sensors records movement patters in a patient’s room while artificial intelligence is used to analyze data in real time to recognize potential risks for falls or bedsores – without the need for cameras or optical sensors, thereby fulfilling the highest standards of data protection.
