When I found out I was approved, I felt both nervous and excited at the same time. I remember telling my mom and family that I was getting cochlear implants, which would truly change my life after living with hearing loss since I was a baby. My cochlear implants have impacted my life in many ways. They have helped me communicate with others, listen to music, and talk on the phone using Bluetooth. They have truly changed my life by giving me the ability to connect with others and enjoy everyday moments, boosting my self-confidence and helping me become more outgoing and happy. I have had many WOW moments—listening to my sister sing, hearing birds, and enjoying music with words for the first time. Being able to hear sounds I had never heard before made me cry.
