Stäfa (Switzerland), October 17, 2017 – Sonova Holding AG, the world’s leading provider of hearing solutions, today holds its annual Investor & Analyst Day. Senior management will present an overview of Sonova’s latest innovative technologies and solutions including its next generation 2.4 GHz universal wireless technology and eSolutions. This year’s event is once again attracting significant interest from the international investor community with around 100 participants expected to attend the day at the headquarters in Stäfa, Switzerland.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to share our latest innovative technologies, products and solutions with such a large group of investors and analysts at this year’s Investor & Analyst Day,” says Lukas Braunschweiler, CEO of Sonova. “Among other topics, we will demonstrate how our recently announced cutting-edge SWORD™ (Sonova Wireless One Radio Digital) chip is enabling even more advanced wireless features as well as facilitating the further expansion of our eSolutions such as distance support. The SWORD technology is further evidence that Sonova is constantly setting new standards in the industry by pushing the limits of technology in order to better serve the needs of our customers.”
A focus of today’s event will be the recently launched Phonak products and related solutions powered by the SWORD chip. Together with the broad range of new products across all of Sonova’s brands, they will subsequently be showcased at the EUHA congress starting on October 18. Among the highlights are:
Phonak
The Phonak Audéo™ B-Direct Receiver-In-Canal (RIC) hearing aid extends the successful Audéo B family and is the first product to reap the benefits of the new proprietary SWORD chip, offering direct connectivity to any Bluetooth®* phone**, no matter if one uses iOS, Android™* or any other cell phone. This Phonak hearing aid – the industry-only true Made For All solution – is based on the innovative Belong™ platform. It simplifies the life of hearing aid wearers by offering them – in addition to excellent hearing performance – the freedom of direct connectivity, hands-free calling, and excellent TV sound quality. Phonak Virto™ B is the world’s first hearing aid with Biometric Calibration. Each ear is unique and each ear hears differently. Identifying over 1,600 data points, the Phonak 3D modelling software calculates the unique calibration settings for each Virto B hearing aid. The result is a 2 dB improvement in directionality leading to better hearing performance1. Virto B comes in a full product family launch.
Unitron
With the release of the Insera™ In-The-Ear (ITE) family and the Stride™ M R rechargeable Behind-the-Ear (BTE) hearing aid, Unitron has extended its successful Tempus™ platform. Taking advantage of the sophisticated EarMatch™ process, Insera optimizes directional microphone performance by compensating for individual differences in each patient’s ear anatomy. With the launch of Stride M R, Unitron expands its choice of rechargeable product options, addressing growing patient demand for flexibility and freedom. Together with the Moxi™ Fit R RIC product, the world’s smallest rechargeable hearing instrument based on exterior dimensions when compared to other products in its class, Unitron now offers two rechargeable styles based on its award-winning designs.
Hansaton
Hansaton builds on the success of its sound SHD RIC products and its AQ sound SHD lithium-ion rechargeable product portfolio with the launch of its jam SHD BTE and jam SHD ITE products. The new products also use the HearIntelligence™ strategy in order to support the natural hearing intelligence with high-speed detection, an innovative automatic program as well as with precise speech processing, localization and optimization features. Based on the SphereHD™chip platform, the new products offer wearers a new dimension of spatial hearing and a natural hearing experience in a wide variety of situations.
Advanced Bionics
In September 2017, Advanced Bionics announced the TÜV approval of the HiFocus™ SlimJ electrode, featuring a thin, straight design for easy insertion. Designed around the key goal of protecting the delicate structures of the cochlea during electrode insertion, the HiFocus SlimJ electrode, alongside the HiFocus Mid-Scala electrode, provides the surgeon with a choice of electrodes with proven patient performance. This follows the launch of the Phonak Naída™ Link CROS in July 2017, a wireless audio transmitter that provides full access to sounds for unilateral cochlear implant candidates with no hearing in their opposite ear. It picks up signals presented to the “non-hearing” ear and instantaneously transmits them to the cochlear implant system on the “hearing ear”. The device further extends the Naída family of hearing solutions from AB and Phonak for severe-to-profound individuals.
The slides of the Investor- & Analyst Day presentations are available from October 17, 2017 09.00am CET on the Sonova website.
