Sonova opens new operations facility serving Americas region

The facility is located in an industrial area in Mexicali, Mexico, and gives access to an extensive pool of highly-skilled workers. It has been built according to LEED standards (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and will provide environmental and cost-efficiency benefits, by meeting Sonova’s exact manufacturing needs. The United States headquarters for the Hearing Instruments and Audiological Care businesses will remain in Aurora, IL, and the global headquarters of the Cochlear Implants business will continue to be based in Valencia, CA.

• Closer proximity to customers and good communications & logistics infrastructure, which will result in faster delivery & service times and lower transport costs
• Well established and favorable trade agreements and close time zone alignment
• Significantly improved supply chain security, thanks to the presence of the full manufacturing value-chain within the Americas region
• Significant environmental benefits and support for the achievement of Sonova’s CO₂ emissions targets, due to a gradual reduction of product transfers from Asia to the Americas.
