Sonova remains on Dow Jones Sustainability Index

Due to continuous improvement in the area of sustainability, Sonova has been listed on the global Dow Jones Sustainability Index in 2015 for the second year running. Among its industry peers, Sonova did especially well in the categories Human Capital Development, Customer Relationship Management, Corp Citizenship & Philanthropy.

The global Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI World), in which Sonova has been listed since September 2014, is internationally regarded as an important reference for sustainable corporate management and honors the best of each industry. The index comprises the leading twelve percent of the world’s 2,500 largest listed companies. It serves as a benchmark for investors who factor in sustainability when assembling their investment portfolios. Analysts from RobecoSAM evaluate companies from 58 industries on a range of environmental, economic and social criteria for the global Dow Jones Sustainability Index rating and review the index every year. 

Compared to the previous year, in 2015 Sonova was able not only to improve its overall score but also to achieve a higher ranking relative to its peers in the health care equipment & services sector. Sonova obtained very high scores in the following areas: human capital development, customer relationship management, corporate citizenship & philanthropy as well as operational eco-efficiency. Compared to the previous period, Sonova was able to make the biggest improvements in corporate governance, tax strategy and environmental policy/management system.

This success is anchored in the array of initiatives and programs that Sonova uses to implement its vision and values on a daily basis. With its non-profit organization Hear the World Foundation, Sonova supports projects for people suffering from hearing loss, and it is committed to taking preventive and educational measures in this arena. Alongside financial and technological project support, Sonova employees make important contributions to the foundation’s work by volunteering their personal time and professional know-how.
